The Colorado Front Range includes Fort Collins, Greeley, Loveland, Longmont, Boulder, Golden, Denver-Aurora Metropolitan Area, Castle Rock, Colorado Springs and Pueblo. It is an informal geographic term for the highly populated area in the state of Colorado. The region is located east of the foothills of the Front Range. This region has the largest number of cities and is the most densely populated area in the state.
The Front Range, a mountain range of the Rocky Mountains in North America is named so because while traveling towards the west along the 40th parallel north across the Great Plains this is the first mountain range one encounters encountered. The name also relates to the Front Range Urban Corridor, which is the most populated region of Colorado and Wyoming.
